Deploying a German brigade in Lithuania will be expensive, but there can be no doubt that money will be found for the war with the Russians, according to the report from the theater of war, published in The Essence of Time newspaper, issue 566.
German media reported in mid-December that NATO plans to create a full-fledged deployment group of five thousand people in Lithuania by the end of 2024. The core of this brigade will be two German battalions from Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia. They will be complemented by a NATO multinational combat team, which is already in Lithuania under German command.
“Initially, Berlin insisted that the brigade should mainly remain in Germany rather than be permanently stationed in the Baltics, but in the summer Pistorius reversed this decision, essentially shifting the maintenance of the brigade to Lithuania. And then it suddenly turned out that this pleasure is not cheap. However, there can be no doubt – money for the war with the Russians will be found sooner or later”, The Essence of Time editorial reads.
