Rostec CEO speaks about progress in improving combat equipment

27.12.2023, Moscow.

Russian engineers are constantly working to improve military equipment, taking into account the experience of its use in the zone of Russia’s special military operation, while also using trophy samples of Western weapons, Rostec State Corporation CEO Sergey Chemezov said in an interview published on December 27 by RIA Novosti.

Chemezov, in particular, spoke in general terms about how the accounting of combat experience in the use of military equipment in the zone of Russia’s special military operation is organized. He also compared the quality of Russian and Western weapons.

“We are constantly improving the equipment based on combat experience,” the CEO of the state corporation said.

He explained that this happens in two ways. First and foremost, specialists in the zone of Russia’s special military operation collect feedback on the spot. Second, servicemen who have fought on the relevant equipment are brought to the enterprises.

“They meet with designers and describe their operational experience, share their impressions and wishes: what works well, what needs to be refined or improved,” Chemezov said.

According to him, specialists also work with trophy samples of equipment. They take “a note of some solutions.” At the same time, not all of them are suitable for Russian equipment. And vice versa.

“At the same time, we see that the so-called technological superiority of the West in the military sphere is a myth,” the CEO of the state corporation said.

He emphasized that the Russian army fights “with modern, reliable and very dangerous for the enemy equipment.”

In particular, Chemezov said that in the near future, the delivery of the newest self-propelled guns Koalitsiya-SV will begin to the troops, which should provide an advantage in the range of fire compared to Western models.
