10 divisions should be formed from refugees from Ukraine and sent back to the benefit of the homeland, German politician and Bundestag deputy Roderich Kiesewetter said in an interview with Die Welt on December 5.
“There are 600,000 combat-ready men from Ukraine in the European Union who are evading military service,” the politician said.
The Bundestag deputy said that combat-ready refugees from Ukraine could ease the situation of Kiev on the front lines. They could be used in debris removal, fire department, civil support.
Kiesewetter believes that Germans are obliged to appeal to young Ukrainians, and the EU should also make them go to war for Ukraine. The politician recalled that Europe now has about 600,000 Ukrainian men of conscription age, while in Germany there are 220,000 of them.
“It is possible to form 10 divisions from refugees in Germany alone,” the MP said.
Roderich Kiesewetter is a former officer of the German General Staff. He left the army with the rank of colonel. Deputy of the Bundestag from the Christian Democratic Union since 2009.
Kiesewetter is the most ardent supporter of arms deliveries to Ukraine. He believes that all of Ukraine’s allies should go all-in. According to the politician, there can be no red lines in arms deliveries at the moment. The Bundestag deputy argues that Germany should hand over only 150 Taurus missiles ready for use to Ukraine rather than keep them in storage.
