27.10.2023, Kurchatov.

The Kursk nuclear power plant operates in normal mode after a foiled attack by three Ukrainian UAVs, the plant’s press service wrote on Telegram on October 27.

“Kursk NPP is operating in normal mode,” the message reads. It is noted that the radiation background in the area of the NPP and at the plant itself is at the natural level.

The press service emphasized that the suppression of the attack of three UAVs did not affect the work of the station, as reported by TASS: there are no casualties and destruction, law enforcement agencies are working at the scene.

The first power unit of the plant is in the “no generation” mode for further decommissioning. The other power units operate in the mode set by the usual schedule.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported the interception of three drones in the Kursk region on the night of October 27, one of which was intercepted near Kurchatov.
