The Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu stated that the Russian military has effective systems for defeating enemy aircraft during an inspection of the Vostok Army Group’s command post in the South Donetsk direction in the zone of Russia’s special military operation, the ministry’s press service informed on October 25.
“We have got systems that shot down 24 airplanes in five days,” Shoigu noted.
During the report to the minister, the Russian military told of the successful defeat of US-made M777 artillery systems, although this type of enemy weaponry has so far “caused a lot of problems.”
For the courage and heroism shown during Russia’s special military operation, Shoigu presented the Gold Star medals of the Hero of Russia to Colonel Mikhail Gudkov, commander of the separate 155th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet, and Colonel Oleg Vlasov, commander of the separate 810th Marine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet.
