The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will likely not launch a ground operation in the Gaza Strip until after US President Joe Biden’s planned visit to the country is over, Der Spiegel magazine reported on October 17, citing sources.
“It is virtually impossible that Israel will provoke Biden during his visit,” the publication noted.
Biden’s visit to Israel is expected to take place on October 18. Earlier, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in that country. He met twice with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during October 16.
