Ukraine’s losses in the so-called counteroffensive exceed Russian losses eight times, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed in an interview with the China Media Corporation published on October 16.
He recalled that this counter-offensive began as early as June 4. “So far there are no results, there are only huge losses,” the Russian leader emphasized the results for the Ukrainian side.
Putin clarified that we are talking about the ratio of losses one to eight between the Russian army and the Ukrainian armed units.
In the interview, the Russian President emphasized that the beginning of Russia’s special military operation is not the beginning of the war, but an attempt to end it. He recalled that after the coup d’état in Kiev, the new authorities unleashed a conflict in the southeast of the country in which civilians suffered.
All of Russia’s efforts to contribute to its peaceful conclusion have come to nothing, the Russian president emphasized.
