China is ready to cooperate with Russia to defend the goals and principles of the UN Charter and international justice, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on October 16.
“China is ready to cooperate with Russia to defend the goals and principles of the UN Charter and international impartiality and justice,” the diplomat stressed.
He noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries. The diplomat emphasized the importance of this document, which laid a solid foundation for the development of relations between Russia and China.
Wang Yi emphasized that regardless of changes in the world, relations between the two countries will develop and strengthen in all directions. He noted that the countries should act as guarantors of justice on the world stage.
Relations between Russia and China serve as a world stabilizing factor, because the countries always profess the principles of non-alignment, non-confrontation and non-directiveness against other countries. Moscow and Beijing mutually respect each other’s interests.
