The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) began to clear the Gaza Strip-bordering town of Sderot of Palestinian fighters, the IDF Spokesperson’s Office reported on October 9.
The Israeli military is trying to clear the city with a population of about 27 thousand people from militants who may remain in the town.
Local residents are instructed to lock themselves in their homes and not to go out into the street.
According to preliminary data, more than 650 civilians were killed and about 2,200 more were injured as a result of a massive Palestinian attack on Israel.
