Polish Prime Minister says Poland has stopped arms deliveries to Ukraine

20.09.2023, Warsaw.

Poland has stopped arms deliveries to Ukraine because it needs to actively arm itself, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on the Polsat TV channel on September 20.

“We are arming ourselves with the most modern weapons. If you want to defend yourself, you should have something to defend yourself with,” he said.

Morawiecki added that the Polish government has started to make increased orders for arms supplies for its own needs. At the same time, Warsaw said earlier that Poland is in third place in terms of arms supplies to Kiev after the United States and the United Kingdom.

Rossa Primavera News Agency earlier wrote that, on September 20, Polish President Andrzej Duda criticized the Ukrainian authorities for claims over disputes over restrictions on Ukrainian grain supplies. He compared the neighboring country to a drowning person who grabs at everything and can drag down the one who saves him.

Duda emphasized that Poland would defend only its national interests despite speculations about the need to help Ukraine with grain exports.
