Moldovan MP: Establishment of new USSR will allow Moldova to survive

18.09.2023, Kishinyov.

Only the Soviet Union in a new form will give Moldova an opportunity for development, the leader of the Moldovan party Renaştere-Vozrozhdenie Alexandru Nesterovski said on September 15 in the air of the program Glavnoye on TVC21.

“It will be better if we go to the East, to be friends with the Eurasian Union. For 32 years we have experienced what Europe is, we see that they don’t need us there, they don’t need our apples. They need us strictly as consumers,” Nesterovsky said.

It used to be profitable for the Soviet Union to invest in the development of Moldova because the republic was close to Europe, which simplified trade, the deputy said.

“We understand perfectly well that there is and will be no way back to the Soviet Union, it is the past. But the Soviet Union in a different form is our future, because only with it we can develop the country, only with it we can move forward,” Nesterovski said.

The regime of the current Moldovan President Maia Sandu has taken a radical course on confrontation with Russia and on breaking all economic, political and cultural ties. However, the majority of the country’s population does not support breaking ties with Russia.
