Russian Defense Ministry: Two attacks by Ukrainian UAVs in the Moscow region are foiled

Russian air defense forces repelled two attempted drone attacks by the Kiev regime in the Moscow region, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry informed on August 21.

The first UAV was detected at 06:50 a.m. on the territory of the Moscow region, but was suppressed by means of electronic warfare. The fixed-wing drone crashed near the village of Pokrovskoye in the Ruza district, but there were no casualties or damage.

A second attack by a Ukrainian drone in the Moscow region was also foiled this morning at 08:16 a.m. A UAV of a similar type was detected and destroyed on the territory of the Istra district.

According to the Governor of the Moscow region Andrei Vorobyov, the downed drone fell on one of the garden houses in the community garden “Dorozhnik”. The building was damaged and windows were broken in three neighboring houses.

Two people were injured – a 56-year-old man was taken to the nearest hospital with injuries from glass shards, and a 77-year-old woman refused to be hospitalized. Emergency services are working at the scene.

On August 20, Ukrainian UAVs tried to attack four regions of Russia. Belgorod and Rostov regions, as well as Kursk and the Moscow region, were attacked.

Most of the drones were neutralized by air defense forces, including by means of electronic warfare. Human casualties and large-scale destruction were avoided, but five people were injured when the Kursk railway station was damaged.
