French industrial group Thales sent “a small number” of ACAR assault rifles to Kiev “for testing”, the Echos newspaper reported on August 16, citing its own sources.
Thales sent the Australian-made ACAR assault rifles to Ukraine “in small quantities” as early as last month, the publication reads. The Echos quoted a company representative as saying that the weapons were neither sold to Kiev nor transferred under a contract, but were simply provided “for testing and evaluation.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said earlier that the USA and NATO member-countries are directly involved in the conflict since they supply Kiev with weapons and train its personnel on their territory
In addition, the Russian side has repeatedly emphasized that arming the Kiev regime does not contribute to the settlement of the conflict and has only a negative impact on the situation.
