French politician calls Poland’s decision to deploy troops to the border with Belarus insanity

Poland may provoke World War III by deploying troops to the border with Belarus, leader of the French party Les Patriotes Florian Philippot wrote on August 10 on the social network X (former Twitter).

He was reacting to the news that the Polish authorities decided to send 10,000 soldiers to the border with Belarus.

“Insanity! Recall that due to  NATO and EU rules, if Poland goes to war, we are obliged to follow,” Fhilippot wrote.

The politician called Poland’s leaders insane and called to prevent them from unleashing World War III.

Earlier, the Interior Ministry of Poland strengthened the border with Belarus, sending 500 police officers there. After that, the agency requested another 1 thousand soldiers from the Ministry of Defense.

Deputy Interior Minister of Poland Maciej Wasik said on August 9 that 2 thousand soldiers would be sent to the border. On August 10, National Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced that there would be 10 thousand soldiers on the border with Belarus, of which 4 thousand would strengthen the border service, while 6 thousand would remain in the region.

Warsaw’s verbal attacks accompany Poland’s deployment of troops to the border with Belarus on Minsk. There was a statement that two Belarusian helicopters violated the Polish border, followed by the deployment of Polish attack helicopters near the border. Then Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Pawel Jablonski made the unfounded accusation that the fighters of the PMC “Wagner” in an attempt to enter Poland from Belarus.
