China is objectively more powerful than Russia, but the Russian Federation, unlike China, is an active party in the confrontation with the West, according to a summary from the theater of war published in The Essence of Time newspaper, no. 543.
Yan Xuetong, director of the Institute of International Studies at Tsinghua University and chief editor of The Chinese Journal of International Politics, believes that there is no multipolarity in the world, but a bipolar US-China international structure has been formed.
According to Yan Xuetong, the term multipolarity is used because it is convenient for all participants of the world process and provides political correctness. Otherwise, the USA would have to recognize China’s power, and Russia, India, Japan, Brazil, and the EU would have to recognize that they are inferior to the USA and China.
