The ultimate US bet in Ukraine is how and when the US empire collapses, Pino Arlacchi, an analyst of the Italian newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano, wrote on July 6.
According to Arlacchi, US President Joe Biden does not care about the fate of the Kiev regime, as the fate of the United States itself, not Ukraine, is at stake. “What is at stake is when and how the United States leaves the captain’s bridge of the planet,” the columnist said.
The time of US domination is over, the world is becoming multipolar, and the US is trying to delay the end of its leadership as much as possible. Vassals and allies must pay the price, and the USA has dragged the EU “into a self-destructive struggle” with Russia, which has been chosen to play the role of “the main demon.”
Arlacchi said Russian and Ukrainian presidents Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky had almost reached a peace deal in March 2022. However, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Zelensky that Europe and the USA did not want peace. Other peace initiatives on Ukraine – Turkish and Israeli – ended similarly.
