Russian army units in Zaporozhye region switched to active defense. The head of the Zaporozhye social movement “We are together with Russia” said this on July 4, RIA Novosti informed.
“Our troops have switched to active defense. That is, not only qualitatively defend, but also counterattack, with minimal risks for personnel,” Rogov said.
He also noted that the Russian Armed Forces are trying not to risk people unnecessarily, unlike the Ukrainian command, which does not take care of its soldiers.
The counteroffensive of Ukrainian troops began in the Zaporozhye direction on 4 June. The attack was launched by Ukrainian brigades, which were trained by NATO instructors and armed with Western armored vehicles. However, during the month, Ukrainian troops failed to make any serious progress and could not overcome even the first line of the Russian defense.
