Austrian military expert: The first phase of Ukraine’s offensive has failed

The first phase of Ukraine’s offensive failed, and now Ukraine is forced to change the tactics of its military actions, military expert and Colonel of the Austrian Armed Forces Markus Reisner said in a conversation with the n-tv channel on July 3.

“From my point of view, the first phase of Ukraine’s offensive has failed,” Reisner said.

He explained that there were “attempts on the Ukrainian side to advance en masse, as if according to US Army manuals.”

However, during such a counteroffensive, it turned out that the Russian side “was too well prepared for such a breakthrough,” Raisner said.

He noted that the new tactic of the Ukrainians was to advance into the Russian side in small assault groups.

Such tactics, the colonel explained, although slow, are “successful.”

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian armed forces have been unsuccessfully “counterattacking” since June 4.

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said on June 22 that the Ukrainian army, whose losses since the start of the counteroffensive have reached more than 13,000 people, continues its unsuccessful counteroffensive.
