Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service: Kiev continues to work on a “dirty nuclear bomb”

Kiev is not stopping work on making a “dirty nuclear bomb,” an official statement from Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) published on June 19 reads referring to the available information.

“There is information about Kiev’s decision to send a batch of irradiated fuel from the Rovno nuclear power plant for reprocessing,” the SVR said in a statement.

The agency warned that Kiev’s decision to use such weapons would have dire consequences.

Russian intelligence first reported on Kiev’s work to create a “dirty bomb” shortly after the start of a special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. Prior to the conflict, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also announced Kiev’s intention to reacquire nuclear weapons.
