Air defense systems of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) that protect LPR airspace effectively intercept foreign Storm Shadow missiles, LPR head Leonid Pasecnik said on June 15 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
According to Pasechnik, the way the enemy initially used this type of missile came as a surprise, as the missile was fired from the rear thanks to its smart guidance system.
“To date, this situation has been improved… I left the territory of the republic on Saturday. Quite a number of missiles have been destroyed,” Pasechnik said.
Storm Shadow is a British-French air-launched low-observable cruise missile with a range of up to 560 km. In May 2023, the UK transferred these missiles to Ukraine.
