Islamism is essentially anti-Islam, it was created by the West to fight development, said philosopher, analyst, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on the air of the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda on April 6.
The political scientist explained that the West declared the abolition of authoritarian modernization, which was supposedly replaced by democracy.
Kurginyan described how one of the heads of an Israeli secret service told him about a conversation with a leader of the Ivory Coast who shouted at him: “Now the Americans have come, talking about democracy. I spent 30 or 40 years making a nation out of tribes, now they’re saying, go back to tribes.”
He stressed that everywhere in developing countries, where authoritarian modernization was abolished, it was replaced by an “archaic frenzy“. Kurginyan noted that now the archaicists who are bringing society back are becoming the main allies of the United States.
The political analyst recalled that the process of Islamism formation by the British imperialism began back in the 18th century, when the first mosques of The Society of the Muslim Brothers (organization banned in Russia) appeared in the Suez Canal area. “This is not Islam, this is Islamism, this is a particular radical type of existence of the great Islamic civilization, in which what is abolished? The Development!” – Kurginyan stressed.
He recalled that Islam was a rapidly developing civilization, and Christianity took a lot from it at certain stages, for example, during the Crusades.
“Some Grenada, Cordoba and all the rest, these were the highest manifestations of some enlightenment, culture and everything else, science and so on and so forth,” Kurginyan stressed. At the same time, by about the 16th century, it all came to an end and shrank, said the political scientist.
“It was necessary to model pseudo-Islam, Islamism, it was necessary to support the archaic, to give this archaic new opportunities and put it at the center of the world, and this was done by the West, which nurtured a special – anti-Islam in essence – Islamism,” Kurginyan said.
