The first Tu-214 aircraft with Russian equipment manufactured by the Ulyanovsk Instrument Engineering Design Bureau will be produced at the end of the year, Aleksander Voit, general director of the enterprise, told journalists on April 24.
“The first plane should be produced at the end of this year,” he stressed.
Voit noted that Aeroflot and Tatneft have already ordered planes for 2024-2025, a total of 18 machines.
Tu-214 is a middle-range narrow fuselage plane. It is equipped with Russian PS-90 engines. It can carry up to 210 passengers to a range of 6500 km.
The aircraft is produced in small batches by the aviation plant in Kazan. It is used by a special flying squadron Rossiya, which is flown by the country’s top leaders.
