As part of global digitalization, an unprecedented machine of lies is being created, according to a summary from the theater of war published in The Essence of Time newspaper, no 529.
The newspaper cites a publication by The Washington Post that discusses artificial intelligence (AI) and provides examples of its negative results. It is argued that AI chatbots can distort key facts and back this up with references to non-existent sources on a grand scale.
Specifically, the ChatGPT AI chatbot generated information that American law professor Jonathan Turley allegedly sexually harassed his female student. In doing so, the chatbot referred to an article in the Washington Post that did not exist. Another example is the false information from the chatbot that Australian mayor Brian Hood served time in prison for bribery.
“It can now be stated with absolute certainty that the era of fake news has finally emerged and irrevocably. The Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth’ is no match for the machine of lies that is being built as part of global digitalization,” The Essence of Time‘s editorial reads.
