An official military delegation from China, headed by Defense Minister Colonel General Li Shangfu, visited the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry wrote on April 17.
“The guests familiarized themselves with the structure of the military university, the training and material base, the organization of the educational process, and the specifics of the training of foreign servicemen. The Chinese delegation also visited the academy’s museum,” the statement reads.
Li Shangfu, Chinese Minister of National Defense, is in Russia on his official visit from April 16 to 19.
This is Shangfu’s first foreign trip after his appointment to the post.
During his visit, the Chinese Defense Minister in Russia will hold talks with the head of the Russian Defense Ministry. The Russian ministry also noted that the two sides will discuss the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the defense sphere and other topical issues of global and regional security.
