The West and the anti-Russian forces inside Russia are putting their stake on our country’s failure in Ukraine, which could become a prologue to a rebellion against the current authorities, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in an interview to the Metametrica channel published on March 25.
One of the hosts asked whether any parallels could be drawn between today and the events of 1917 and whether a scenario is realistic when certain forces under patriotic slogans could set up a coup d’etat against the current Russian authorities.
“It is absolutely realistic. Especially because these people will be in touch with our very peculiar oligarchy. There will be leftists, too, of course, because the leftist movement in the world, and in Russia to a large extent, has become severely degraded and anti-national,” the political scientist answered.
He explained the Imperial Army officers, after the Bolsheviks came to power, helped Leon Trotsky in building a new army, because they saw that he needed it, in contrast to the dukes and the previous elite.
“And what is taking place now, when it becomes rebellious, it will do it differently. <…> The point is that one day I noticed Yuri Afanasyev’s article, in which he said, ‘accursed country,’ ‘all the Russian filth everywhere,’ ‘it must be partitioned’ etc. And then Strugatsky, answering to this article (in 2008 – Rossa Primavera News Agency), wrote, ‘Yuri, you are a genius, we are corresponding with you over a thousand kilometers.’ This is not an exact quotation but it is close to the source, ‘Most importantly, Russia has to lose a medium war for us to start working, like the one between Khonti and Pandeya’ (an allusion to the novel Inhabited Island – Rossa Primavera News Agency),” Kurginyan explained.
According to Kurginyan, the idea is that even those days it was alleged that a defeat in a war like the one between Khonti and Pandeya would become the initiating event. US officials call this “medium war,” and this is what is taking place now, the political scientist noted. Besides, Kurginyan stressed that if a rebellion scenario takes place in Russia, it will be different than the events of 2011.
“Do you understand the difference between the Poklonnaya Gora rally, the Vorobyovy Gory rally, and what will be taking place next time? The difference is that there will be at least Molotov cocktails etc. at the start, and maybe even something more serious. You cannot step into the same river, you cannot make any normal civic street activity again. And if you make another one, this will be a retrospection again.”
