In the context of the confrontation with the West, Russia should build friendly relations with Turkey while keeping in mind its ambitions to create the Great Turan, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in an interview to the BelTA Belarusian agency published on March 23.
Kurginyan noted that in the current situation, Turkey’s policy is extremely ambiguous, but Russia needs its support very much, and this is why Russia’s policy in this direction today is very reasonable.
“Our diplomacy is doing really good when it keeps Turkey from too impulsive moves against us,” the political scientist said.
Kurginyan noted that we should avoid idealizing the strength of the friendly Russian-Turkish relations.
“We should remember what Turan is, what parts of the territory it includes, and what can happen tomorrow,” the leader of Essence of Time noted.
In the current situation, however, according to Kurginyan, we should smoothen all this and “be friends today.”
