Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky may suffer the fate of Osama bin Laden, whom the USA first supported and then called a terrorist, Shūkan Gendai columnist Hiroshi Ohara said.
“Osama bin Laden, whom the USA now considers a bloody terrorist, was initially a freedom fighter and a righteous warrior, a mujahideen. Back then the mujahideen were fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan, and the USA provided them with weapons and money as part of Operation Cyclone,” he said.
The journalist pointed out that it was the USA that promoted this figure as a hero. Washington provided support to terrorists, justifying it by fighting the Soviet Union.
Ohara proposed to monitor Zelensky’s future fate more closely.
