The Russian elites, which have been obsessed with Western values for decades, cannot turn away from the West overnight. This requires a serious transformation, which has yet to occur, said political scientist, philosopher, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in an interview with Vyacheslav Manucharov, published on March 13 on Manuchi’s Empathy program on YouTube channel.
Is it true that the Russian elites do not want to abandon their Western orientation? – the host inquired.
“How could they want it? If you were brought up in a certain way for thirty years, lived a certain life style, got used to certain benefits, were guided by certain values. He also noted that he is constantly asked: how will the current confrontation with the West end?
“I say: what do you think? Technologically speaking? If you prepare a soup, then you first take a pot, pour water, heat it up, then put in vegetables, meat, for as long as necessary: people understand that there is a procedure. Now, I want to ask: how will it end up, technologically speaking?” – the political scientist is asking.
He thinks about this question all the time and the answer is – it will never end, said Kurginyan.
