Georgia’s desire to find out what’s going on with foreign funding of non-governmental organizations has led the USA and the EU to arrange a coup d’etat in Tbilisi, Andrey Klishas, head of the Federation Council Constitutional Committee, wrote on his Telegram-channel on March 9.
“The parliament in Tbilisi is being stormed by gangs with Molotov cocktails, while the US and EU keep repeating the mantra that the authorities should behave with restraint (remember the “restraint” of the US police, when one of the protesters was simply shot in the head while storming the Capitol, without anyone trying to set the Congress on fire),” Klishas said.
He also noted that power must be changed in elections, not as a result of color revolutions paid for by foreign governments.
The US State Department spokesman Ned Price commented on the events in Georgia, saying that those responsible for suppressing protests could be subject to US sanctions.
