The expulsion of Iranian diplomats from Germany over the death sentence of terrorist Jamshid Sharmahd proves that he is not just a terrorist, international journalist Abbas Juma wrote on his Telegram channel on February 23.
“Berlin protests. Scholz personally speaks from a high rostrum about the unacceptability of punishment (the terrorist is also a German citizen). Iranian diplomats are also being expelled from Germany. And all this for the sake of a simple terrorist? Yes, but not just any terrorist. Germany’s reaction is vivid proof of that. As well as the fact that their goal is the destruction of the Islamic Republic,” the journalist notes.
On February 21, the Iranian court sentenced to death the Iranian-German citizen Jamshid Sharmahd. He was accused of anti-state activities.
In response to the Iranian court decision, the German Foreign Ministry summoned the Iranian chargé d’affaires on February 22 and also declared two employees of the Iranian embassy as undesirable persons.
Sharmahd also has a US residence permit. He heads a pro-monarchist group accused of bombing a mosque in 2008 and planning other attacks in the country.
The Los Angeles-based Assembly of the Kingdom of Iran, or Tondar, says it seeks to restore the Iranian monarchy overthrown by the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
