The decrease in the number of troops in the Polish army may speak of Poland’s preparations to dispatch units to Ukraine, according to summaries from the war theater of the Essence of Time newspaper.
The newspaper quotes Sejm deputy Krzysztof Tuduj. He noted that some parliamentarians have the opinion that the number of troops in the Polish army is decreasing.
The politician cited data from the Polish media. According to them, in 2022 the number of people discharged from the Polish army rose by a third compared to the previous year and amounted to about nine thousand people. At the same time, in January 2023, 4392 people were discharged.
According to the deputy, about eight thousand soldiers were discharged from Poland’s territorial defense forces in 2022.
“Some experts believe that this is how Poland is forming a corps of ‘vacationers’ to participate in combat operations in Ukraine,” says the editorial in the Essence of Time newspaper.
