The circumvention of anti-Russian sanctions for goods from the Czech Republic is carried out through Russia’s neighboring countries. Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Martin Dvořák stated this, Českých noviny portal informed on February 13.
Dvořák pointed that over the past year, the Czech Republic has doubled its foreign trade with one of the Transcaucasian countries neighboring Russia. He did not rule out that this happened because of the circumvention of sanctions.
“We probably can’t avoid it unless there is the will of the respective governments, and they probably do not have it,” Dvořák said. But he denied, however, that the sanctions would not work.
Earlier Dvořák said that the time for the expulsion of the Russian ambassador from Prague “has not yet come.”
