A military coalition without German participation could be created if Berlin refuses to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said, Polska Agencja Prasowa informs on January 22.
“We will create a ‘smaller coalition’ of countries,” he said.
According to him, countries that can supply some of their modern equipment to Ukraine will be motivated by their unwillingness to watch Ukraine “bleed.”
The official also demanded a clear answer from Berlin whether other countries could transfer Leopard tanks.
He also tried to explain Germany’s reluctance to actively help Ukraine by the fact that for a long time Berlin had been building relations with Moscow and now does not want to admit its mistake.
The Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told US President Joe Biden that the USA should be the first who provide Ukraine with modern tanks. This claim was later denied.
