The Russian-Indian enterprise Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited launched production of AK-203 assault rifles for the Indian Armed Forces, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov said, the press service of Rosoboronexport reported on January 17.
Chemezov noted that Russia and India established a reliable partnership, including in the military-technical sphere. One of the results of such cooperation was the creation of a joint venture in India, which will produce weapons of Russian models.
“With the launch of serial production of Kalashnikov AK-203 assault rifles, India’s military agencies will begin to receive high-quality, easy-to-use, and modern small arms,” Chemezov said.
He specified that this automatic rifle model has high tactical and technical characteristics and combines excellent ergonomics and adaptability to the user. According to Chemezov, the AK-203 automatic rifle is one of the best images in the world.
Rosoboronexport noted that the company cooperates with India taking into account the conditions imposed by the Indian side to apply the technology transfer concept and comply with the Made in India principle.
