The Russian armed forces took the Sol railway station under full control, acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin said on January 17.
Pushilin stressed that it was important to cut the communication between Seversk and Artemovsk. Now, with the taking of the Sol station under control by Wagner PMC fighters, this task can be considered as accomplished, Pushilin said.
On January 12, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the liberation of Soledar. The military note that with the capture of Soledar, the task of liberating the next important point of the Ukrainian armed units – Bakhmut (Artemovsk) – has become much easier.
