The Netherlands will do everything possible to “help Ukraine win the war,” the country’s Prime Minister Mark Rutte wrote on his Twitter account on January 3.
Rutte wrote that he had just spoken to President Zelensky and assured him that the Netherlands would do everything possible to help Ukraine not only to defend itself, but also to win the war.
Rutte earlier said that the Netherlands “will continue to support Ukraine” by providing military, humanitarian and diplomatic assistance.
According to the prime minister, €2.5 billion will be allocated to support Ukraine in 2023. The Dutch government specified that this amount will be used for military assistance to Ukraine, reconstruction work and support for security and military agencies.
Rutte added that part of the funds would be used to repair infrastructure, including energy system and hospitals.
Also, Dutch Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren said last week that since the Russian special operation in Ukraine started on 24 February, the Netherlands has already provided Ukraine with nearly €1 billion worth of military aid.
