Croatian President Zoran Milanović gave an assessment of the European Union leadership on December 20 during the ceremony marking the anniversary of the founding of the Dr. Franjo Tudjman Croatian Defense Academy in Zagreb, the Jutarnji list newspaper reported.
Zoran Milanović believes that the current EU leadership is “the most mediocre generation of European politicians, they are people who are completely unaware of the consequences of what they are doing and what happened before.”
The Croatian president was outraged by the text of a letter sent by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrel to the Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Gordan Grlić-Radman.
Zoran Milanovic called it “false and ugly.”
“This letter shows how the EU officials in Brussels treat the Croatian top-officials. They perceive us as blind and deaf-mute fools,” the Croatian president said.
