The Russian Armed Forces managed to take advantageous positions to advance along the Krasny Liman direction, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said at a daily briefing on December 10.
According to him, artillery fire supported by infantry thwarted two counterattacks by Ukrainian nationalists toward Chervonopopovka and Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic. As a result, about 60 militants were destroyed, one BMP was hit, as well as two armored vehicles.
On the Kupyansk direction near Kharkov, the Ukrainian armed units suffered losses of more than 30 men killed, and more than 50 Ukrainian fighters were killed on the Donetsk direction.
US AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar station was destroyed. In addition, the Russian Armed Forces hit two Grad multiple rocket launcher vehicles near the town of Seversk.
On December 9, Igor Konashenkov reported that the Russian Armed Forces defeated three reinforced platoons of Ukrainian military who had attempted to attack Russian Armed Forces positions in the Zaporozhzhye region and the DPR. The enemy lost up to 80 servicemen killed.
