The army and everything related to it must be given a place in the core of the future Russian reality, philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on November 25 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio station.
Russia will have to softly and really change the place of its army in its society, making a great island from this novelty as the core of the future reality, Kurginyan said. He believes that the army should be open to changes to accumulate the best of what is taking place in the world: private structures, creative networks, more new types of military operations, etc.
On the one hand, the army must become more open, but on the other hand, as any huge system, the army is conservative.
“We need a combination of novelty and conservatism. We should create a complex system of several layers, with one planet in the center as a sun and more planets rotating around it, thus making a multi-dimensional complex cosmos, which certainly cannot contain what is taking place today in our defense industry,” the political scientist noted.
The Russian defense industry can be innovative, full, and brilliant, but other sectors have to join it, the analyst told. He added that Russia cannot limit itself to making military products only, because civil sectors also strongly affect the military ones.
“We need great changes in our electronics and all the rest. These changes may affect at least 30-40 million people at first,” the expert stressed. In his opinion, it is unclear how major mobilizations can take place in the Russian society today given the current industry and structures.
“<…> I know that a 3 million strong army is something we must have. And maybe, paradoxically, we need a 3 million strong professional army? A really professional one! And when they say we will not have enough money for it, perhaps we will have enough money for our living? Maybe we can live in a way to save enough? Maybe we can find come trillions deep in our pockets to build all this?” Kurginyan noted.
