Investigations into the events in Ukraine in the case of the creation of a “tribunal” in the West will not have legal consequences for Russia, the head of the Constitutional Committee of Russia’s Council of the Federation Andrey Klishas told RIA Novosti on December 1.
Journalists asked him to comment on the French Foreign Ministry’s statement supporting the idea of creating a special tribunal and beginning work on its establishment.
“There are no legal consequences. And the law in Europe has long been forgotten,” Klishas replied.
Earlier, Russia’s permanent representative to the Geneva-based UN headquarters Gennady Gatilov reminded that events like an international tribunal cannot be held without UN sanction, and the UN Security Council is unlikely to agree to it.
