Bulgarian economists, fulfilling the propaganda task of calming the people, put the cart before the horse, talking about Ukraine and the economic crisis.
Earlier, economists at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) said that they did not expect the country to suffer seriously from the crisis caused by the events in Ukraine. According to estimates made during the international conference, the consequences for Bulgaria are expected to be less significant than for the European Union as a whole.
Inflation in the leading EU countries has reached catastrophic levels. The Bulgarian economists, fulfilling the propaganda task of reassuring the people, put the cart before the horse. Because the economic crisis began before the events in Ukraine.
And these events are just one of several conflicts, which are not the cause, but the consequence of this crisis. And what the European Union now refers to as a crisis is actually a deliberate destruction of the EU economy under the pretext of helping Ukraine.
Bulgaria may indeed suffer less than some of the leading EU countries.
It has a nuclear power plant, it has coal-fired thermal power plants and raw materials for them, and its industrial sector is already severely curtailed. There is hope that energy starvation without cheap energy from Russia will not be so devastating for it, given that the current standard of living of Bulgarians is already relatively low.
Nevertheless, Bulgaria will suffer too, along with other EU members.
