If one assumes that within the framework of every constitution the country’s leadership enters into a social contract with the population, then it is the case that the existing Western-oriented agreement should be urgently changed into a mobilization agreement without ruining the country, stated leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on Russia 1 TV channel on October 17.
Sergey Kurginyan noted that there is a multitude of negative features in modern Russian reality. Everyone knows about these traits. For example, payoffs for wrongdoing or buying privileges are quite commonplace, he explained.
At the same time, the philosopher urged us not to sprinkling ashes on the head, not to consider the situation hopeless, and not to make assumptions that nothing can be corrected based on a number of failed cases.
“Our reality, it is not as terrible as it is discussed by those who relish its shortcomings,” he explained.
“Right now, we have to rely on the reality that exists. We should not interfere with its functioning. But we cannot withstand a long-term conflict with the West on the basis of this reality. It is not designed for this. It is designed for joining the West,” noted Kurginyan.
The political scientist stressed that he follows closely the way events are unfolding in the West and how monstrously inappropriate they are in describing the events around Ukraine. Yet there are opinions in the West that may be even more reasonable than in Russia, he explained.
“Here is Foreign Affairs saying, ‘Mobilization is the termination of the social contract.’ Every constitution has an explicit and implicit social contract. And the social contract was like this: atomization, every man is after himself, the consumer society, and so on. Now this agreement has been annulled,” said Kurginyan.
He explained that the American magazine is now concluding that once the agreement is annulled, it’s all over for Russia and President Vladimir Putin – they are doomed.
“Not ‘doomed’ at all, but a new agreement has to be concluded!” Kurginyan explains.
The analyst notes that Foreign Affairs is not slandering here but is describing the situation correctly. However, then the American magazine draws its propaganda conclusion, while Russia should draw its own – the right one.
“Why should it be said that Foreign Affairs is slandering, pouring water on the enemy’s mill? In this case, it is right to say so. The whole issue is that it draws a conclusion from this that is diametrically opposite to the one we should draw,” notes Sergey Kurginyan.
