Preventing arms trafficking from Ukraine to other regions requires joint efforts of special services of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolay Patrushev said on September 30 at the annual meeting of special services of Commonwealth of Independent States member-countries.
Patrushev noted that Washington and its allies have turned Ukraine into a major black market for weapons and ammunition, from where weapons are sent back to Europe through criminal intermediaries. Further, arms smuggling goes to the Middle East and other regions, including the Commonwealth of Independent States member-countries.
“The likelihood of weapons supplied to Kiev by the West falling into the hands of extremist and terrorist structures has increased sharply, which requires intensified joint efforts to uncover and suppress channels for their distribution from Ukraine,” summarized the secretary of the Security Council.
