About 120 paratroopers of the Ukrainian army, who attempted to land on the Kinburn Spit by boat, were destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces, deputy head of the military and civil administration of Kherson Region Kirill Stremousov said on September 15 in a commentary to RIA Novosti.
The successful landing of the Ukrainian landing force would have created a bridgehead for an attack on Kherson from the west in addition to the main direction of the Ukrainian army’s offensive from the south, from the direction of Nikolaev.
