Western politicians should not teach African countries to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on August 9 on her Telegram channel.
According to her, Western countries themselves have absolutely no respect for the territorial integrity of other countries.
For example, in Europe, they “isolated Kosovo from Serbia and called this territory a state contrary to the opinion of Belgrade and the Serbian people,” Zakharova noted. And in Africa, France still refuses to recognize Comorian sovereignty over the Island of Mayotte, despite all UN General Assembly resolutions, the diplomat recalled.
“Therefore, it is not the West that should urge Africa to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other states,” Zakharova concluded.
