About half of the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has already been liberated. Head of the DPR Denis Pushylin told journalists on August 10.
“266 towns and villages [have been liberated] as of today. As a percentage, it is around half. But if we consider the number of people living in these territories, we have already over half [of the population],” Pushilin said.
The DPR head told about important combats for the republic on the direction of Peski. According to him, the liberation of Peski is being completed and the armed units of Kiev regime are trying to consolidate their positions in Pervomayskoye. Since no fortified positions have been prepared there, Pushilin hopes that the Ukrainian nationalists will retreat further.
According to the DPR head, the allied forces are also advancing along the Artemovsk and Soledar directions, as well as along the direction of Mariinka and Krasnogorovka. Since the Ukrainian army has created strong fortifications there and mined the territory since 2014, the advance is not rapid.
