The servicemen of the People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) together with Russian units have entrenched themselves in the industrial zone of Severodonetsk, Lieutenant Colonel of the LPR People’s Militia Andrey Marochko said on June 16 on air of Channel One Russia.
“Our units together with Russian units have already entrenched themselves in the industrial zone and started a special operation. That is, we are already slowly beginning to move through the industrial zone and mop up this territory,” Marochko said.
Earlier, the official representative of the LNR People’s Militia Ivan Filiponenko,said that LNR forces and servicemen of the Russian Akhmat special-purpose regiment entered the territory of the Severodonetsk industrial zone.
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on June 7 that the residential areas of Severodonetsk had been completely liberated from Ukrainian armed units. The Ukrainian army has entrenched itself on the territory of the Azot enterprise.
LPR forces had earlier entered the territory of Azot, but were unable to entrench immediately.
