The source of fire on the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva, has been localized, the Russian Defense Ministry’s press service reported on April 14.
It is reported that there is no more open fire, explosions of ammunition have stopped. Despite the fire, the cruiser retained its buoyancy and its main missile armament was not damaged.
The ministry noted that the crew was evacuated to the nearby ships of the Black Sea Fleet. The cruiser is planned to be towed to the port, the causes of the fire are being determined.
Earlier, the ministry reported that the cruiser was damaged due to detonated ammunition.
