The representative of the Lugansk People’s Republic in the political subgroup of the Contact group in Minsk Rodion Miroshnik, called for the trial of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as a criminal, RIA Novosti informed on March 22.
Miroshnik called Vladimir Zelensky a criminal and said that only accomplices to his crimes could seek to award him the Nobel Peace Prize. Earlier, a number of European politicians have proposed an initiative to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Zelensky in 2022.
“Zelensky – a criminal, whose place in the dock of an international tribunal for his crimes before the Ukrainian people, for the revival and legalization of Nazism, for the numerous deaths of civilians. For pursuing a policy aimed at destroying both Ukrainians and Ukrainian statehood,” Miroshnik said.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided on a special military operation in Donbass. The decision was made after the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics appealed for help.
Earlier, on February 21, Putin convened an urgent meeting of the Security Council on the issue of recognizing the independence of the republics of Donbass. During the address to the people of Russia, the head of state announced the recognition of the independence of Donbass from Ukraine and signed agreements with the heads of the republics.
