Western intelligence services are studying the possibility of an invasion of Moldova, former Prime Minister Ion Kiku wrote on January 22 in his Telegram channel.
In Moldova, the local elite is beginning to realize that Moldovan President Maia Sandu could bring the country into tragedy, the republic’s former prime minister said.
High gas prices, energy and economic crises are not the worst things for the Moldovan people compared to where the republic is being led, the politician wrote.
“There is information that foreign intelligence services are already conducting an unofficial survey in some state institutions of the country in order to find out the reaction to a possible invasion of the country by Western forces, in case the conflict between Russia and NATO escalates. The fact that Moldova will find itself in the epicenter of a confrontation between those who again divide the world, not caring too much about the fate of Moldovans or Ukrainians, is clear to everyone,” Kiku wrote.
On January 21, Moldovan President Maia Sandu expressed her hope that NATO would help the republic remove Russian peacekeeping forces from the region on a Romanian TV channel.
